Since I don't want to post on this on the elite forum's, i thought i'd share y view of this years team here:
jarvis - didn't play.
ben - he played well, when given the chance, skated really hard and wasn't afraid to get stuck in. He had some awsome little moves that came off well, if given ice time i would be surprised if he didn't get another 1 or 2 goals this year.
Dixon - Credit where credit is due, he played really well, cleared the net well and looked good under pressure!
Tom - played well and managed to get his first professional point with his assist to pirps' goal. wasn't afraid to get stuck in, even with the bigger players!
Hartwick - I liked him, he is a big guy who skated really well, added to offence and looked like he has a good shot, i think he'll get a few goals this season. He gets in the way of forwards, driving them wide, he also threw a good few checks.
Stone - Mr Reliable, nothing else needs saying.
Matt Towe - Bulked up a bit in the summer, looked better playing with the imports, but he looked a little too fast for his team mates on the third line. Great at forechecking and i think he'd work prety well on penalty kill.
Cowmedow - Underated and i think wrongly, he looked strong yesterday, reads the play very well and like stoney does all the basics correctly, i'd like to see him play more shifts on the 3rd with towe and hill.
Myres - in the 5 mins he played he did ok, even if his first shot was a goal, he's a backup so im not going to be too critical, but lets hope he doesn't have to play too often like last season.
Pirps - Deserved his MOM and showed exactly why G brought him back this season. He was very physical and skated hard. if he continues to play like that, drops his gloves a few times, he is definatelly going to be a fan favourite. Oh and OMG, how good was that goal!
Cambell - Cambell looked good, linked well with his line, his two goals were made by them, but didn't he take them welll! He made 2 or 3 massive hits and wasn't afraid to get stuck in in the corners, something he will have to do quite often to let silver and hinks get open. I liked the look of him, similar style to pirps.
Latulippe - didn't play
Likit - didn't play, will he ever play?
Phil Hill - thought he had a good game, he made a good few hits, something i thought he has been lacking in previous years. he will center the 3rd line, which is fine, but i can't remember him winning a face off last night, which will put our 3rd line on the back foot straight away!
Brad - Same old Brad, good chasing of the puck and some great hits. He shoots well, very hard and acurate. He also creates a lot of space for his team mates, he also has good hands passing very well. Hopefully some of his enforcer duties will be spread out, to let him once again score heavily.
Franny - What you see is what you get with franny, he worked hard and is a great servant to the club! rumour is that him cowmeadow and davis will share a spot on the 3rd line, an interesting scenario, i wonder how that will work.
Silver - He looked sharp and has great vision. we also got to see his versatility doing a few shifts on d. He also plays d on power play, to give us essentially 4 forward players on the ice to hopefully get more pp goals. He seemed to link well with his lines and will score and assist a lot of goals this year.
G - didn't play
MacIver - i was execting a more physical game from him, but after playing in europe last year i expect it was a far less physical game. He skates really well and like hartwick he adds to the offence well, and OMG did you see his skills in warm up. He also had a few words with cloutier andfor those who have seen him on youtube, we know he can fight. From the outset he seems like brad, playing comes first, he'll drop gloves and goon it up when he needs to.
Aubs - Not overly impressed, i have never been a big fan of his, but im sure with the d we have in front of him, he'll be fine. When he played for us last time he seemed to go missing on some games, lets hope with the new number comes a new goalie! One problem i saw yesterday was that he didn't go sideways very well, could be a problem when playing the better teams.
Doz - didn't play
Hinks - i loved the way in warm up he was berating himself when ever he messed up. he looked prety sharp and fast, although he missed a few chances, for an older man he looked very good and i think he could do justice to that 91 shirt. He read the play very well and is not afraid to shoot. Has the possibility to be our 'star' player.
Well that was my initial review, im sure my opinion will change week by week, What does everyone else think?
jarvis - Looks solid, but is a stay at home d man who often goes un-notice, how a stay at home d man should be really
ben - he played well, when given the chance, skated really hard and wasn't afraid to get stuck in. He had some awsome little moves that came off well, if given ice time i would be surprised if he didn't get another 1 or 2 goals this year.

He gets in the way of forwards, driving them wide, he also threw a good few checks. Sometimes goes walk about, leaving the d stretched, however i think he could possibly be our best d man this season.
Stone - Mr Reliable, nothing else needs saying.
Matt Towe - Bulked up a bit in the summer, looked better playing with the imports, but he looked a little too fast for his team mates on the third line. Great at forechecking and i think he'd work prety well on penalty kill. Needs to look to shoot more, although his work ethic is amazing

He was very physical and skated hard. if he continues to play like that, drops his gloves a few times, he is definatelly going to be a fan favourite. Oh and OMG, how good was that goal! Getting a lot of ice time which is making him very tired
OMG, how good are hs hits, but is he adding to the goals tally?
Latulippe - Quality player, very fast and sharp. Also very chippy and not afraid to get stuck in, towe should use him as a role model! A very very good player at playing along the boards, whilst somehow keeping the puck
Likit - Good shot, but bad positioning and weak in some other key areas, could come good, but has suffered a dislocated shoulder? Will he last?
Phil Hill - thought he had a good game, he made a good few hits, something i thought he has been lacking in previous years. he will center the 3rd line, which is fine, but i can't remember him winning a face off last night, which will put our 3rd line on the back foot straight away! Impressive stats so far
Brad - Same old Brad, good chasing of the puck and some great hits. He shoots well, very hard and acurate. He also creates a lot of space for his team mates, he also has good hands passing very well. Hopefully some of his enforcer duties will be spread out, to let him once again score heavily.
